What is health?

Well according to all the top searches on Google – it is a state of complete physical, mentally, emotional, spiritual and social well being. That sounds accurate, I mean it matches up with my Life Orientation text book – complete well being. But what exactly does that mean?

Functionality

I believe health is about functionality, being able to do things. Have you noticed that when your health is not at a 100% you feel unable to do things even if the reality is that you are one hundred percent capable. I know that when I don’t move my body or try and exercise that leads to me being in a slump all day. I know that may sound a bit off-ish but think about it, doing nothing leads to more doing nothing and that’s not healthy. When you don’t move, your body is not happy as it is not doing what it was designed to do. Being able to do things is a huge contributer to your health and is a large contributer to what health is.

Mental clarity

Health is about mental clarity. It is about being able to focus on what you doing (no matter how small or insignificant the task is) and actually concentrate and apply yourself to that task. Having health means that your memory is functioning beautifully, not to say that you should remember every single detail about your life. It means that you are able to come up with solutions to problems you face and not rely on someone else to solve them for you. It means that you are able to make effective decisions. This part of health ensures that you are progressing with your life and are growing in health and wealth.

Love and happiness

The last way I would define health is as love and happiness. Health, I believe means that you are happy and have love in all areas of your life. You should firstly be happy with yourself meaning that you are content with where you and where you are you are heading. Be happy and appreciate what you have even if you are in the process of changing and bettering it. Have love for yourself – meaning that you are exercising, eating healthy and getting enough sleep, drinking your water and taking care of your mental and spiritual health. Have love for others – meaning that you have good relations with people, are nice to people and always help others. This improves and qualifies as health as it means that you are overall have a better quality of life and don’t have toxic relations with people which depreciates your health.

Remember to smile and be good to people…….until next time.
